Deeply disappointed and upset by the care we received.Our dog injured his leg and couldn’t put any weight on it. When my partner called, the practice wouldn’t treat it as urgent and did not offer us an appointment that day. It was only when I phoned back to reiterate our deep concern that they agreed to squeeze him in, which I initially appreciated.However, the consultation itself was awful. The vet was rude, cold, and unhelpful. She kept her back to me while asking questions, showing zero empathy. The examination was incredibly rushed—lasting barely five minutes—and consisted only of a quick feel of his paw and ankle. She completely ignored his upper limb and shoulder and did not do a basic general health check. We were simply handed six NSAID tablets and told to rest him. Without our pet health plan, this brief, inadequate visit would have cost £70, plus an astronomical £22 for just six standard anti-inflammatories.The front-of-house experience wasn't any better; the reception staff seemed to treat their job as an extension of their social life, chatting among themselves rather than being welcoming or empathetic to worried owners.This visit left me so angry and upset that we have now moved both of our pets to a different practice. When speaking to the new vet and explaining why we were moving, I actually cried. I was worried that there was still something majorly wrong with his leg because his examination at Ark Vets had been so limited, but I simply couldn't bear the thought of going back there. Even when Ark called me to confirm I was happy for my pets records to be shared the new vet practice, I wasn’t asked why I wanted to leave them or for any feedback, I found this odd given I had only just visited them within the last couple of days, just shows to me how much they don’t care. Sadly, it feels like this corporate-owned practice has become a money-making machine. The vet we saw and the practice staff really need to reflect on why they joined the profession and learn what these animals mean to their families.

Good vets for our cat.

My cat was recently hit by a car which resulted in him having to have his tail amputated. The care and kindness show by the vet. veterinary nurse and reception staff was second to none . I can not thank them or praise them enough .
